My Aunt Eaka tells me amazing stories all the time about little things that happen to her that lets her know Natalie's watching. I know for a fact that I can feel her presence everyday. On June 9th, 2007 we held our First Annual Natalie's Fly Thru the Park 5K and it was clear Natalie was there. The weather was amazing- the sun shining, a perfect blue sky. Not only was the weather amazing but the turn out was as well. We had over 300 volunteers and participants- which made the day even more successful. Channel 5 News was there as Emily Longnecker walked along Aunt Eaka and Uncle Dave to spread the word of the race. The Clermont County Humane Society came out with a few of their dogs; Coke supplied us with hundreds of drinks; Nestle supplied Power Bars and candy; and Marc's Bagels supplied us with bags and bags of bagels for breakfast. With the help of these sponsors and many more we pulled of an incredible race which everyone seemed to enjoy. This year we are continuing to hold Natalie's 5K at Miami Meadows Park- but we are also taking over their "Beat the Heat 5K" in Natalie's honor. So, hopefully this year we'll have double the volunteers and participants and we'll create a tradition our Natalie would have loved.
